We have both been sick this week. Going outside has been very limited, the heat and humidity makes the sickness feel 1000% worst. So, sadly we have been stuck at home.
This does not have a good effect on my child. She doesnt listen at all, whines, cries, gets into everything, makes mess just to make it, yells and is just over the top.
Like today, I begun to clean the bedroom and noticed daddy let her have milk and muffin in the bedroom. I am not sure why food is even allowed there, but whatever. I tell her to take her muffin to the kitchen. Instead of walking it there, she gets on the bike and tries to ride to the kitchen one handed. This causes her to fall and the muffin (that was in pieces) go all over the floor and blankets I just cleaned.
I make her go to the living-room and tell her to stay out of the bedroom while I go for the vacuum. What does she do? Waits till I am gone and runs in to get her bike. Rides it on top of the muffin pieces making it 10 times worst.
Ok, ok I know why is riding a bike permitted in the house? Well because 99% of the time its not an issue and she has been stuck at home.
Last night she threw a major fit because I put the wrong movie in.
She doesnt listen until I raise my voice, and I hate doing it. But, I can say "Megan dont do that" till I am blue in the face and she still does it. I have to shout "MEGAN DONT DO THAT" do they any kind of response, which 99% of the time is crying.
I have a feeling the major problem here is that I am the only one that disciplines. Mike, does tell her no, and does yell at her when she does bad, however in the last 2 years I think he put her in time out 2 times, and both lasted 10 seconds.
Hopefully we will both be over this darn sickness soon so that we can go outside and she can burn off some of this energy.
